EthiQal, a division of Constantia Insurance Company Limited, has launched yet another year of its Doctor’s Day initiative and calls on all South Africans to join them in celebrating our healthcare heroes.
Established on 16 November 2018 – two years to the date on which EthiQal was formed – Doctors’ Day raises awareness about the value doctors to bring to our lives and the critical role they play in meeting the healthcare needs of our nation. 2020 marks the third year of the initiative. This year’s mandate is to inspire people across the country to celebrate healthcare heroes and the impact that they have had on their lives.
As the only South African provider of the gold standard, ‘occurrence-based’ medical malpractice cover, EthiQal is a firm believer that doctors are national assets that must be safeguarded for the well-being of our nation. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, our doctors and healthcare workers deserve to be celebrated and recognized more than ever.
“The challenges arising from the coronavirus crisis have taken an immense toll on the lives of many doctors and nurses and their families. There has never been a more important time to celebrate and recognize our healthcare workers,” says Alex Brownlee, EthiQal Executive.
“Healthcare workers across South Africa have been on the frontlines throughout this pandemic. We owe it to them, not only for caring for us and ensuring that we lead healthy lives but also for their bravery and dedication in helping to stop the spread of the coronavirus,” Brownlee goes on to say.
EthiQal is calling on all South Africans to celebrate our healthcare heroes by submitting their stories of how their doctors have made a difference in their lives. R10 000 will be shared amongst five lucky entrants. To qualify, a participant must submit their story by visiting www.doctorsday.co.za and uploading it before 30 November 2020.
